Reconciliation

Reconciliation in our Parish

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is administered by a priest or bishop. In this sacrament we are givenGods forgiveness for our sins. The authority to do this was given to the Church by Christ himself“those whose sins you forgive are forgiven. Those whose sins you retail are retained”What is said in Confession is a secret between you, the priest and God. The priest may not revealanything said in Confession – this is known as the Seal of Confession. Even if ordered by the civilauthorities to reveal want was said the priest cannot do so. A priest who breaks this seal isautomatically suspended from the priesthood by the action of breaking the seal.Confessions are heard before the Saturday masses or by arrangement with the priest.
